Calendero Mezcal is inspired by the Patron Saint festivities of the State of Oaxaca, where joy and vibrant colors come together to bring these celebrations to life. Berenice Corro and Alejandro Hernandez Aquino, natives of San Pablo Huixtepec, Oaxaca, currently own the “Turtle Bay Restaurant” in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca.

Commitment

The initiative to launch a new mezcal brand comes from their commitment to some of the less famous producer communities, driven by the desire to promote and help create employment while having knowledge of the work employed to generate a high-quality product that is sustainable and has a low ecological impact on the land.

“Marmota”

Our inspiration

La Marmota

We are inspired by one of the most representative figures de las Calendas, “La Marmota” (the ground hog). This element in the form of large sphere made mainly of Carrizo and
cardboard or wood as they are made today, They accompany the Calenders. has an origin primarily religious but for Oaxacans, it is the festive and joyful soul that paints each celebration with colors patronal.

Our Imagotype shows bright colors used in the “marmotas”, with a maguey at the top that represents the plant that gives life to our mezcal.

  • Brown

The brown color represents the Oaxacan land that allows us to cultivate and harvest the maguey through it.

  • Pink

Represents the love and dedication that is put into making each bottle of Calendero Mezcal.

  • Orange

Represents the energy and emotion that is experienced when trying our mescal.

  • Green

represents nature and with this each of the magueys
    used to make Calendero mezcal.

  • Yellow

Representa la alegría y felicidad que se viven en las calendas.

  • Blue

It represents the wisdom, spirituality and respect that the mezcalero master when making Calendero.

Our brand seeks that every time you open a bottle, you can be transported to the Calendas and experience with each drink the joy that the people of the Oaxacan towns live in their celebrations accompanied by family and friends.
